“Working with Zoë was very simple and an utter pleasure. I loved receiving the swatches in the post so I could envisage how the colours would work in the room, and when the lamp and cushions arrived I was delighted. Delicate, unique, and made with a craftsmanship that is difficult to find in contemporary furnishings”.
Caroline loved the shape of my Chambord lamp but wanted something altogether softer with an earlier vintage feel to sit in her Greenwich home.
The brief called for something subtle yet stand out for a calm neutral room. I put together several swatches including soft melange wools and feminine floral prints but it was the beautifully understated metallic linen with vintage trim that finally caught Caroline’s eye.
We paired this soft, classic shade with an American Walnut hand turned standard lamp from my own collection. Every lamp is hand turned in Worcestershire by a craftsmen with 5 generations of turning in the family and then finished with British brass and textile flex. The warmth of the wood complemented the shade beautifully.
Caroline loved the lamp so much she also commissioned cushions to complete her room.
