Pearl contacted me shortly after I launched my website, in love with my lamp ‘Miss Peacock’, and wanting a vintage brass base sourced for the shade.
Miss Peacock is a vintage frame – stripped, repaired and pained blue – before having jewel toned silk and fine indigo fringe hand stitched to the frame.
I sourced the perfect 3/4 sized vintage brass standard lamp and refurbished it with a little polish, British brass fixtures and textile flex.
“Your lamp is now in my dressing room, it looks incredible. So many people have commented on it”. Pearl Lowe.
Pearl went on to write her book on vintage craft and home styling and Miss Peacock featured in the chapter on Smouldering Lighting.
I went on to help Pearl refurbish a lace lampshade she had created herself, finishing the shade by hand stitching 2 metres of fine black fringe to the scalloped edge of the shade. The lamp was photographed in her new home featured in The Telegraph.
